I have always been dying to try this recipe, but I was always scared it would be too spicy! But I was wrong!! It is now my favorite way to prepare a quick and DELICIOUS family dinner inexpensively and FULL of flavor! You basically only need a couple packets of seasoning mixes, some pepperoncinis, butter, and a Boston Butt Roast! Oh, and a CrockPot of course =-) You won’t believe how good this is til you try! Let’s make it!

Tips & Tricks:

  • Cookware: I used a 7 qt Crock pot to make this recipe: My Crock pot link

  • You’ll be tempted to add in water…don’t do it! Totally unnecessary and you won’t get the same result. You’ll get plenty of juices from the pork and the butter.

  • Best served over mashed potatoes, with the juice from the crockpot poured over the potatoes and the pork. Add a little chopped fresh parsley for garnish.

  • If you are looking for that seared topping of the roast like I achieved; DO NOT mix in the seasoning or butter. Just sprinkle both packets over the Butt Roast and then lay the chunks of butter on top! The Pepperoncini’s and juice can go around it in the crockpot!

Crock Pot Mississippi Pork Roast Recipe 

 

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 lb. Boston Butt Pork Roast

  • 1 packet of Au Jus Gravy (1 oz. packet)

  • 1 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning Packet (1 oz. packet)

  • One 16 oz. jar of Pepperoncini Greek Peppers

    • save a few of the peppers for garnish when serving, but add the rest in the crockpot)

    • about 2-3 tbsp. of the pickling juice from the Pepperoncini jar into the crockpot

  • 6 tbsp. of butter cut into chunks

  • 1/2 tsp. of salt

  • 1 tsp. of cracked black pepper

  • 1 tsp. of garlic powder

 

How To:

  1. Season the Boston Butt roast with salt pepper and garlic powder.

  2. Add the Butt roast into the crock pot.

  3. Add the contents of the au jus packet & the ranch seasoning packet over the Boston Butt roast. Then, scatter the pepperoncinis in the crock pot around the roast; and add in a few tbsp. of the juice from the jar, as well.

  4. Then, top the roast with 6 tbsp. of butter cut into little chunks.

  5. Set the crock pot on low and cook for at least 6 hours.

  6. Serve over mashed potatoes and use the crock pot drippings to serve over the potatoes ad the roast! SO GOOD! MAKE IT!
