Melissa Jo Real Recipes

The BEST EASY  Crockpot Tacos

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 packet (1 ounce) taco seasoning

  • 1 can (14 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained

  • 1 can (4 ounces) diced green chilies, undrained

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1-2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

  • Taco shells or tortillas

  • Toppings (shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onions, chopped garlic, salt & pepper until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.

  2. Transfer the cooked ground beef to the crockpot.

  3. Add the taco seasoning, diced tomatoes (with their juices), and diced green chilies (with their juices) to the crockpot. Stir well to combine.

  4. Season with salt and pepper according to your taste.

  5. Cover the crockpot and cook on low heat for 4-6 hours or on high heat for 2-3 hours, until the flavors are well combined and the mixture is heated through.

  6. Stir occasionally during cooking to prevent sticking or burning.

  7. 15 minutes before you are ready to serve add 1-2 cups of shredded cheddar to the crockpot, depending on how cheesy you want your tacos to. Once it melted, mix it in with the beef.

  8. When ready to serve, heat the taco shells or tortillas according to package instructions.

  9. Serve the crockpot taco mixture in the taco shells or tortillas and add your favorite toppings like shredded cheese, quartered limes, diced jalapenos, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream.

  10. Enjoy your delicious crockpot ground beef tacos!
