One of the top recipes on this website is my BFC! What is BFC you ask? It's an acronym for a name I made up based on a recipe I have been making for my family as far as I can remember. BFC stands for Baked Fried Chicken, if you don't know what I'm talking about here's my BFC recipe: (https://melissajorealrecipes.com/italian-fried-chicken-bfc/). Whenever my kids ask me to fry anything I always make a version of my BFC. Basically what I do is grab my favorite protein, in this case, it is bone-in-center cut pork chops. I seasoned them to perfection, coated them in egg and oil, bread them, drizzled oil, and baked them in the oven. This results in a tastier and healthier version of this pork or any protein. Many people shy away from making pork chops because they can dry up in the oven, but let me assure you these are the juiciest and most flavorful pork chops. Are you ready to add baked fried pork chops (BFC) to your weeknight recipes? Let's make it!
2tspspicy fennel herb seasoning or italian seasoning blenddivided
½tspdried rosemary
1tsppaprika
½tspcrushed red pepper flakes
Salt & cracked black pepperto taste
Instructions
In a bowl add the pork chops and season them with granulated garlic powder, sweet basil flakes, dried rosemary, paprika, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, cracked black pepper, and 1 tsp of spicy fennel herb seasoning.
Rub the seasoning blend into both sides of the pork chops.
Then add in the egg and dretch the pork chops in the egg so they are fully coated.
In a separate bowl add the seasoned bread crumbs, panko, 1 tsp spicy fennel herb seasoning, and ½ a tsp of both salt & cracked black pepper.
Give that a mix.
Let the excess egg drip off the pork chop before drenching both sides of the pork chop into the breadcrumb mixture.
Once both sides are coated in the breadcrumbs let the excess breadcrumbs shake off and place the breaded pork chops on a baking sheet with a rack.
Drizzle about a tbsp of olive oil over the top of each pork chop.
Bake that in the oven at 375°F for 20 minutes.
After it's been baking for 10 minutes, flip the pork chops and drizzle another tbsp of olive oil over the top of each one.
