2packages3.9 oz. each instant chocolate pudding mix
4cupsmilk
Whipped cream or Cool Whipoptional
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures the perfect temperature for baking the cake.
In a mixing bowl, prepare the cake mix as instructed on the box. Combine the mix with the required ingredients, such as eggs and oil. Mix well until you have a smooth batter.
Take a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and pour the cake batter into it. Spread it evenly, ensuring a consistent thickness throughout.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and milk until smooth. This luscious mixture will create the ooey-gooey center of your lava cake.
Gently pour the pudding mixture over the cake batter in the baking dish. Don’t worry if it sinks a bit—it will create a delightful surprise in every bite!
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes. To check if the cake is done, insert a toothpick into the cake. If it comes out clean, your cake is perfectly baked.
Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes. This allows the flavors to settle and the cake to firm up slightly.
Serve the chocolate lava cake warm for the ultimate indulgence. If desired, top it off with a generous dollop of whipped cream or Cool Whip. The combination of warm cake, melting center, and creamy topping is simply divine!
Notes
For an extra chocolatey delight, you can add some chocolate chips or chopped chocolate to the batter before baking.
Experiment with different pudding flavors like caramel, vanilla, or even mint for a unique twist.
Serve the cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a contrasting cold and warm sensation.
Leftover cake can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Just reheat it in the microwave for a few seconds before enjoying again.
