Method
Step 1: Add the Chicken to the Crockpot
- Place the seasoned chicken breasts in a single layer along the bottom of the crockpot.
Step 2: Season the Chicken
- Bring the chicken breasts to room temperature and pat them dry. Season both sides with the garlic powder, onion salt, celery salt, and cracked black pepper.
Step 3: Make the Gravy Mixture
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream of celery soup, chicken gravy packet, turkey gravy packet, and ½ cup of water until everything is well combined.
Step 4: Pour It Over the Chicken
- Pour the gravy mixture evenly over the chicken breasts, making sure each piece is completely covered.
Step 5: Cook Low and Slow
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 5–6 hours, or until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
Step 6: Shred and Serve
- Shred the chicken directly in the crockpot using two forks, then stir it into that creamy gravy. Garnish with dried parsley and serve over mashed potatoes or fluffy white rice.
Want Extra Gravy? Whisk together 1 cup hot water, Better Than Bouillon (I usually use the beef base for a richer flavor, but chicken base works too), and 1 tablespoon cornstarch until smooth. Stir it into the crockpot after shredding the chicken and let it cook for a few minutes until thickened. It’s an easy way to make the recipe extra saucy!
