Easy Philly Cheesesteak Sliders

No ratings yet
My kids are always requesting these easy philly cheesesteak sliders!! This recipe is perfect to make for an easy weeknight meal and it only takes a few minutes to prep! I combined ground beef, onion, peppers, seasonings, worcestershire, and my secret ingredient, beef consomme. The beef consomme takes the flavor of the dish to a whole other level!!! I topped that with some mozzarella and provolone cheese and let it get nice and melty and then served that deliciousness over Texas toast! Serving the philly cheesesteak on Texas toast was a game changer and it added so much extra flavor to the sliders!!! However, you can also serve the philly cheesesteak on a sub roll, hawaiian rolls, a hamburger bun, or even a lettuce wrap if you're feeling low carb. This recipe is beyond easy and your family will beg you to make it at least once a week! So are you ready? Let's make it!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 - 2 tbsp butter
  • 8 slices garlic Texas toast
  • ½ a large onion sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 2 tsp garlic powder divided
  • 10 shakes of worcestershire sauce
  • 5 oz Campbell’s beef consomme
  • 3 oz freshly shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 7 - 8 slices of provolone cheese
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Garnish: dried parsley flakes

Method

  1. In a pan with olive oil, add ground beef, salt & pepper, 1 tsp of garlic powder, and sauté until meat is browned. Once meat is browned, remove it & set aside.
  2. In the same pan remove some of the excess oil and add in a hunk of butter. Then add in sliced onion, green pepper, red pepper, salt & pepper, 1 tsp of garlic powder, and sauté until the veggies are soft.
  3. Bake garlic Texas toast in the oven according to the instructions on the box.
  4. Add your meat back to the pan with the veggies. Then add in worcestershire sauce and beef consomme. Let that simmer on low until it reduces for about 5 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle the freshly shredded mozzarella cheese over the top and add provolone cheese slices. Pop the top on for a few minutes to let that cheese get melty.
  6. Garnish with some dried parsley and serve on the garlic Texas toast!! Enjoy!!
