Ingredients
  

  • 20 oz five cheese tortellini
  • 6 garlic cloves chopped
  • 2 lemons juice & zest
  • 1 quart heavy cream
  • 1 stick salted butter
  • 1 & ¼ cup grated pecorino romano
  • 1 lb frozen broccoli florets
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a pot add butter and let it get melty. Then add in the lemon zest and salt & pepper.
  • Let that saute for about 3 minutes.
  • Next add in lemon juice and give that a stir.
  • Then pour in the heavy cream and more salt & pepper.
  • Bring the pot to a boil and once it comes to a boil lower it to a simmer. Simmer for 4-7 minutes or until it thickens up a bit.
  • Then add in the pecorino romano and chopped garlic.
  • Whisk that together until everything is incorporated.
  • Bring the pot back to a boil, lower it to a simmer, and let that simmer for 5-7 mins
  • Add in the frozen broccoli and bring the pot back to a boil.
  • Once it comes to a boil, lower it to a simmer, and let that simmer for about 3-5 minutes or until the broccoli is soft.
  • Boil the tortellini in salted water for 2 minutes.
  • Once the tortellini is halfway cooked add it to the alfredo sauce letting a little bit of the pasta water drip in.
  • Stir everything together and let the tortellini finish cooking in the sauce for 2-3 minutes.
  • Garnish with more grated pecorino romano and enjoy! The sauce will thicken as it stands.
  • Allow the dish to set up for 5 minutes before serving.
