Cheez-It Chicken 🧀

This recipe was given to me by one of my best friends and Riley Roux’s mother, Mikel. Back in the day when Riley, Anthony, and Nick were just little kids, Mikel gave me this recipe and I have been making it ever since. It’s that recipe I go to when I really don’t feel like wasting food and I know everyone will eat it including myself because we are all obsessed with it! It’s interesting how this simple combination of flavors results in such an incredibly delicious dinner. I’m nearly positive this was my second or third recipe I ever posted when I was starting out on social media and Tik Tok. It went viral and everyone loved it then, so hopefully it aged well and you love it too! It’s a keeper, let’s make it!

I use this Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Signature Rectangular Roaster in the color flame constantly! I love this baking dish because it is designed for optimal oven roasting, ensuring even heat distribution and superior heat retention for perfectly cooked meals every time.

Cheez-It Chicken
Ingredients
- 3 chicken breasts butterflied
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cracked black pepper
- 6 oz sour cream
- 3 oz grated parmesan
- 2 cups cheez-its
- 6 tbsp butter melted
Instructions
- Butterfly your chicken breasts, so that you have six thin pieces of chicken. Season both sides of the chicken with garlic powder, salt, and cracked black pepper.
- Grease a baking dish with cooking spray and add your seasoned chicken into the baking dish. Add 2 heaping tbsp of sour cream onto each piece of chicken (6 oz total) and smooth it out to cover the whole piece of chicken. Then, shake the grated parmesan cheese evenly over each piece of chicken.
- Add your cheez-its into a ziploc bag and crush them up. Now, pour the melted butter into the ziploc bag with the crushed up cheez-its and shake it around so the cheez-its get coated in the butter. Then, add the buttery cheez-its on top of each piece of chicken to fully cover the chicken.
- Bake in the oven at 375°F for 45 – 50 minutes. Enjoy!
