Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.

Season the Roast

  • Pat the chuck roast dry and generously season all sides with Dano’s Outlaw Butter Seasoning.

Sear the Roast

  • Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and olive oil.
  • Once melted and sizzling, add the chuck roast and sear on both sides until deeply browned. This step builds flavor.

Cook the Onions

  • Add the sliced onions directly into the skillet. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly golden.

Build the French Onion Base

  • Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Sprinkle the entire packet of Dano’s French Onion Dip Seasoning over the onions and liquid. Stir gently to combine.

Return the Roast

  • Nestle the chuck roast back into the skillet. Sprinkle a little extra Outlaw Butter Seasoning over the top.

Bake Until Fall-Apart Tender

  • Cover the skillet tightly with aluminum foil and transfer to the oven.
  • Bake at 350°F for 2½–3 hours, or until the roast is fork-tender and easily shreds.

Serve

  • Shred the roast directly in the skillet and spoon the onions and juices over the top.
