EASY Strawberry Shortcake Cups Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 store-bought Angel Food Cake
- 24 oz. ripe strawberries sliced
- 3 cups heavy cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 4 tbsp. powdered sugar
- 13 oz. container of Marzetti Strawberry glaze
- 16 plastic party tumbler cups by Tableluxe
- Blue frilled toothpicks
Instructions
- n a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, beat the ingredients together until the cream forms soft peaks. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, gently mix together the sliced strawberries and the Marzetti Strawberry glaze until well coated. The glaze adds a burst of sweetness and enhances the natural flavor of the strawberries.
- Take the store-bought Angel Food Cake and cut it into 1-inch cubes. Prepare your plastic party tumbler cups by placing three chunks of angel food cake at the bottom of each cup.
- Next, spoon a generous portion of the glazed strawberries onto the angel food cake layer. Make sure to distribute the strawberries evenly, allowing their juices to soak into the cake.
- Now, it’s time to add a dollop of the homemade whipped cream on top of the glazed strawberries. Feel free to be generous with it! The creamy texture complements the sweetness of the strawberries and adds a luxurious touch to the dessert.
- Repeat the layers by adding more angel food cake, glazed strawberries, and whipped cream, ensuring that each cup is filled to your liking. The alternating layers create a beautiful presentation and maximize the flavors.
- Finally, top each Strawberry Shortcake Cup with one glazed strawberry and garnish it with a fun touch – a blue frilled toothpick. This adds a touch of whimsy and makes your dessert visually appealing.
