I bought the cutest taco holder from Walmart to make my tacos refillable! If you’re having a party you can double or even triple my recipe and keep refilling the tacos as they disappear! Prefect for 4th of July, birthday parties, and any summer event! My Crockpot Beef Taco recipe is tender and has a flavorful beef filling. The best part? It’s made effortlessly in a slow cooker, allowing you to enjoy a delicious meal without breaking a sweat. So grab your tortillas and let’s get cooking!

The BEST EASY Crockpot Tacos

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 packet 1 ounce taco seasoning
  • 1 can 14 ounces diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can 4 ounces diced green chilies, undrained
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1-2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • Taco shells or tortillas
  • Toppings shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, etc.


  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onions, chopped garlic, salt & pepper until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  • Transfer the cooked ground beef to the crockpot.
  • Add the taco seasoning, diced tomatoes (with their juices), and diced green chilies (with their juices) to the crockpot. Stir well to combine.
  • Season with salt and pepper according to your taste.
  • Cover the crockpot and cook on low heat for 4-6 hours or on high heat for 2-3 hours, until the flavors are well combined and the mixture is heated through.
  • Stir occasionally during cooking to prevent sticking or burning.
  • 15 minutes before you are ready to serve add 1-2 cups of shredded cheddar to the crockpot, depending on how cheesy you want your tacos to. Once it melted, mix it in with the beef.
  • When ready to serve, heat the taco shells or tortillas according to package instructions.
  • Serve the crockpot taco mixture in the taco shells or tortillas and add your favorite toppings like shredded cheese, quartered limes, diced jalapenos, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream.
