🤔 Common Questions
Yes, absolutely!
Boneless, skinless chicken thighs work great in this recipe and are perfect for a quicker weeknight dinner. Since they cook faster than bone-in thighs, you’ll want to bake them at 425°F for about 25–30 minutes, depending on thickness. Still baste halfway through and finish under the broiler for that signature sticky caramelization. You’ll lose the crispy skin, but you’ll keep all that juicy, tender flavor.
You can—but here’s what you need to know.
Chicken breasts are leaner and cook differently than thighs, so they require a little TLC to avoid drying out. If you’re using whole boneless breasts, I recommend cutting them in half horizontally so they cook more evenly. Bake at 400°F for 20–25 minutes, basting halfway and broiling at the end for that glossy, sticky finish.
You can also use chicken breast tenders or thin-sliced breasts and reduce the cook time to 15–18 minutes at 425°F. Either way, just keep an eye on internal temp—aim for 165°F and no higher for juicy results!
