I love barbecue and grilling season, but if I’m being honest, I don’t want to be the one standing outside sweating over the grill. I’m perfectly happy staying inside in the air conditioning and being in charge of the beans.

And let me tell you — if you’re in charge of the beans, you better bring a really good recipe. That’s exactly where this Bubble Up Bean Bake comes in. It’s ridiculously easy, made with simple pantry ingredients, and the flavor is next level.

Tips for Success Before Baking:

  • Use your favorite baked beans. I used Bush’s Original Baked Beans, but any brand works.
  • Bacon shortcut: I used the Hormel real chopped bacon pieces in a bag to keep it easy, but you can cook and chop about 5–6 strips of bacon if you prefer.
  • Don’t cover the dish while baking. Leaving it uncovered helps the top caramelize.
  • Go big on the seasoning. Dano’s Sweet & Tangy Barbecue Outlaw Seasoning is lower in salt, so you can be generous without making the beans too salty.
