Creamy Dijon Crockpot Chicken 🍗
Creamy Dijon Chicken is a classic dish featuring chicken breasts and a creamy dijon sauce that always satisfies! So, I thought to myself how can I take this delicious dish and turn it into a crockpot recipe?
During the holidays or any time of the year when you are busy it is very nice to have a dish that you can make in the crockpot, but you wouldn’t know you made it in the crockpot…if you know what I mean. This crockpot recipe is exactly that! This Creamy Dijon Chicken is as good in the crockpot as it is in the pan with simple ingredients and always a crowd pleaser. Let’s make it!
This delicious spice blend I used includes: 1 tsp Italian Steak Seasoning, 1 tsp Paprika, 1 tsp Cracked Black Pepper, ½ tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes, and ½ tsp salt.
Make sure your chicken is room temperature and patted dry. Season the chicken with that seasoning blend and pat it into both sides.
Set the chicken aside.
In a Large Measuring Cup or bowl add in a ⅓ cup of heavy cream.
Pour in 1 cup of white wine (I used Pinot Grigio).
Add in about 2 shakes of Worcestershire Sauce.
Add in 1 tbsp of chopped fresh garlic and a 1/4 of a red onion chopped.
Shake in a ½ cup of Grated Pecorino Romano.
Whisk that together until combined. I love using this Black Silicone Whisk Set!
Now it is time for the star of the show! Add in 4 tbsp of Dijon Mustard.
Next, add in 1 tbsp of Cornstarch.
Then, add in a ½ tsp of salt and some more cracked black pepper to taste. I use the Le Creuset Salt Mill & Le Creuset Pepper Mill everyday for my recipes, the color is beautiful! Whisk everything together until fully combined.
I love this using this Hamilton Beach 6-Quart Slow Cooker for my recipes because it has three simple cooking settings, it is easy to clean, dishwasher safe, and easy to carry with the handles.
Place the seasoned chicken in your crockpot.
Pour that creamy dijon mixture all over the top of the chicken.
Place 3 tbsp of sliced butter over the top. Pop the lid on the crockpot and cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 4-6 hours.
When the chicken is done, add in 1 cup of chopped baby spinach, put the lid back on, and cook for another 5 minutes.
Shred up the chicken.
Serve over mashed potatoes. Make it!
