Today I’m going to show you how to make the most delicious Berry Compote that is going to have everyone thinking you are a master chef. Berry compote sounds fancy however it is simple and simply delicious! For this recipe I topped a Juniors cheesecake that I bought from Costco with my berry compote to make it fancy and seemingly homemade. Although the cheesecake isnt homemade this berry compote sure is and it’s going to steal the show anyhow. So, head to your favorite bakery, buy your favorite cheesecake, throw away the box, and let’s make this berry compote! 

You don’t only have to top a cheesecake with this berry compote, you can also top pancakes, waffles, french toast, oatmeal, frozen yogurt, ice cream, cakes, tarts, pies, and more!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ¼ cup strawberries chopped
  • 1 ¼ cup blueberries
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 2 tsp sugar adjust amount based on ripeness of the berries

Instructions
 

  • In a pot add strawberries, blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook on medium heat until it comes to a boil.
  • Once the pot comes to a boil, put it on low, and start mashing up the fruit using a wooden spoon or potato masher. I prefer bigger chunks, but you can mash them to whatever consistency you like.
  • Continue to cook for about 10 minutes on low heat.
  • Once it’s done, cut the heat and let it cool for another 10-15 minutes.
  • Spread over cheesecake, icecream, or on whatever you like. Enjoy!!
