It’s about That time! It’s getting close to being a holly Jolly Christmas! So you know what that means! Time to make the Christmas cookies! These snickerdoodles are my sister’s best cookie recipe! Everybody clambers to get a bite of these cookies! They are super easy to make and the perfect gift for your loved ones! Also, they are really fun to say! lol

Snickerdoodle Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 & 1/2 cups + 1/4 cup white sugar divided
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup of softened butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 & 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400° F
- Mix cinnamon & 1/4 cup sugar together and set aside.
- Beat 1 & 1/2 cups sugar, shortening, butter, & eggs in a bowl with an electric mixer until combined.
- In a separate bowl whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Then using a sifter, combine it with the wet ingredients. Mix just until combined. (by hand or with mixer)
- Shape dough into 1 & 1/4 inch balls. Roll in cinnamon sugar. Place on baking sheet 2 inches apart.
- Bake at 400° F about 10-12 minutes. Rest on a wire rack and enjoy! Happy Holidays!
