It’s about That time! It’s getting close to being a holly Jolly Christmas! So you know what that means! Time to make the Christmas cookies! These snickerdoodles are my sister’s best cookie recipe! Everybody clambers to get a bite of these cookies! They are super easy to make and the perfect gift for your loved ones! Also, they are really fun to say! lol 

Once you make this snickerdoodle cookie recipe, I have a sneaky suspicion you will make them over and over this month! So good my friends! Let’s make it!!!

How do the snickerdoodle cookies stay soft?

Bake them for only 10-12 minutes and once they are cooled they will still be soft, but just don’t over bake them because they will become too hard

  • Preheat oven to 400° F
  • Mix cinnamon & 1/4 cup sugar together and set aside.
  • Beat 1 & 1/2 cups sugar, shortening, butter, & eggs in a bowl with an electric mixer until combined.
  • In a separate bowl whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Then using a sifter, combine it with the wet ingredients. Mix just until combined. (by hand or with mixer)
  • Shape dough into 1 & 1/4 inch balls. Roll in cinnamon sugar. Place on baking sheet 2 inches apart.
  • Bake at 400° F about 10-12 minutes. Rest on a wire rack and enjoy! Happy Holidays!
