A hand dips a gingersnap cookie into a bowl of pumpkin dip drizzled with caramel and topped with chopped pecans.

You absolutely HAVE to make this Pumpkin Cheesecake Dip for Halloween! Or bring it to a fall party, Friendsgiving, or pretty much any gathering where you want everyone to lose their minds over dessert. Because let me tell you something, this dip is so freaking good, itโ€™s going to knock everyoneโ€™s socks off!

But I have one very important rule:ย DO NOT bring this to Thanksgiving dinner.ย

And hereโ€™s why. Itโ€™s simply not fair to the pumpkin pie! Thanksgiving is pumpkin pieโ€™s ONE day to shine. She gets her 15 minutes of fame once a year, and if you show up with this pumpkin cheesecake dip, nobody is going to want the daggone pumpkin pie! And thatโ€™s just sad. Let the pumpkin pie have her moment! But literally every other day of fall? MAKE THIS DIP!

Itโ€™s creamy, fluffy, perfectly spiced, and tastes like pumpkin pie and cheesecake had the most delicious little baby. Then weโ€™re topping it with crushed gingersnaps, crunchy pecans, and a beautiful caramel drizzle. Serve it with gingersnaps and sliced apples, and just wait until everyone takes their first bite. Iโ€™m telling you, this one is a WINNER!

Melissaโ€™s Tips!

  • Soften your cream cheese. This is important! Make sure your cream cheese is softened before you start mixing. Otherwise, you might end up with little lumps in your dip.
  • Use pure pumpkin purรฉe. Do not accidentally grab pumpkin pie filling! You want the can that says 100% pure pumpkin because weโ€™re adding our own sugar and spices.
  • Fold in the Cool Whip last. This is what gives the dip that beautiful, fluffy cheesecake texture. Donโ€™t overmix it.
  • Add the toppings right before serving. If youโ€™re making this ahead of time, wait to add the crushed cookies, pecans, and caramel until youโ€™re ready to serve. That way, everything stays fresh and crunchy.
  • Use a cute serving dish! I love serving mine in a little pie plate because it makes the whole thing look like a beautiful pumpkin cheesecake pie, except everyone gets to dip right into it!
  • Donโ€™t forget the gingersnaps! The gingersnaps are my favorite thing to serve with this dip. That combination of ginger, pumpkin, cheesecake, and caramel is absolutely incredible.

๐Ÿค” Common Questions

Can I make pumpkin cheesecake dip ahead of time?

Absolutely! This is a great make-ahead party dessert. You can prepare the dip up to 24 hours in advance and keep it covered in the refrigerator. When youโ€™re ready to serve, give it a gentle stir if needed, transfer it to your serving dish, and add the crushed gingersnaps, pecans, and caramel drizzle.

Can I use pumpkin pie filling instead of pure pumpkin?

No, I recommend using 100% pure pumpkin purรฉe. Pumpkin pie filling already contains added sugar and spices, which would change the sweetness and flavor of this recipe.

Can I make this without pecans?

Of course! Simply leave them off if you have a nut allergy or donโ€™t like nuts. The crushed gingersnaps and caramel are delicious on their own.
