Whopper with Cheese Burger Sliders ๐Ÿ”

I’ve worked at several restaurants in my life but the very first restaurant I ever worked at when I was 14 years old was Burger King. Is Burger King considered a restaurant or a fast food restaurant? Either way I lived the life of โ€œmay I take your orderโ€ and bagging fries the summer before entering high school. And every lunch break without fail I ordered a whopper with cheese, french fries, and a coke (I didn’t even drink diet coke back then lol). So I thought about it and said well I have made my Big Mac Sliders with my special big mac sauce, but I never made my favorite fast food burger into a slider which is a whopper with cheese. If you have had my Outback Steakhouse Alice Springs Chicken, Loaded Cheese Fries, Coconut Shrimp, or Walkabout Soup then you know that I know my copycat recipes; ESPECIALLY when I worked there! These are going to be the best whopper sliders, cheeseburger sliders, or whatever you want to call them that you have ever had! Say goodbye to the drive through, get in that kitchen, and let’s make it!

I use this Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Signature Rectangular Roaster in the color flame constantly! I love this baking dish because it is designed for optimal oven roasting, ensuring even heat distribution and superior heat retention for perfectly cooked meals every time.

Store in an air-tight container for 3-5 days in the refrigerator.

๐Ÿค” Common Questions

ย Do I have to use Hawaiian rolls or can I use another type of slider bun?

Hawaiian rolls add that soft, slightly sweet bite that balances the savory beef and tangy sauceโ€”so good! But you can swap them with any slider buns you like. Just make sure theyโ€™re soft enough to hold everything together without falling apart.

What if I donโ€™t have American cheese?

No problem! American cheese gives you that classic โ€œWhopperโ€ vibe and the best melt, but cheddar, Colby Jack, or even provolone will work just as well.

Whopper with Cheese Burger Sliders

Either way I lived the life of โ€œmay I take your orderโ€ and bagging fries the summer before entering high school. Ingredients

  • 1.5 – 1.75 lbs ground chuck
  • 1 tbsp lawry’s seasoning
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 12 pack hawaiian rolls
  • 6 slices of american cheese
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 3 tbsp mayo
  • โ…› of a onion chopped
  • โ…› of a tomato chopped
  • โ…› of a head of lettuce roughly chopped
  • 8 – 10 dill pickle chips
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large bowl combine ground chuck, lawryโ€™s seasoning, and black pepper (DON’T OVERMIX IT).
  • Grease a 9×13 baking dish and press the seasoned ground chuck into the baking dish, making sure it is in an even layer. Bake it in the oven at 350ยฐF for 20 minutes.
  • Slice open your hawaiian rolls. Grease a separate 9×13 baking dish and add in the bottom half of the buns. Once the meat patty is done, scoop it up with two spatulas and let the excess grease drip off. Then, add it on top of the bitton buns and use a paper towel to blot the top of the meat patty to remove excess grease. Add the slices of american cheese over the meat and transfer it back in the oven at 350ยฐF for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is melty.
  • While that’s in the oven combine the ketchup and mayo. Spread that sauce evenly over the top buns and set it aside. Once the cheese is melty, remove the baking dish from the oven, and evenly sprinkle on the chopped onion, tomato, lettuce, and pickles. Top that with the top buns sauce side down and brush melted butter over the top of the buns. Lastly, garnish with some sesame seeds.
  • Bake in the oven at 350ยฐF for 6 – 8 minutes or until golden. Serve & enjoy!
