This year’s Independence Day is extra special because 2026 marks America’s 250th birthday, celebrating 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. And while the 4th of July is often associated with standing over a hot grill all day, I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to. Whether you’re hosting a backyard cookout, heading to a boat party, bringing a dish to a family gathering, or simply looking for easy recipes that let you spend more time enjoying the holiday, this collection has you covered.

I’ve rounded up some of my favorite crowd-pleasing recipes that are perfect for celebrating America’s 250th birthday. From creamy dips and refreshing salads to easy desserts, hearty mains, and summer cocktails, these recipes are simple to make, easy to transport, and guaranteed to disappear fast.

Appetizers & Party Starters

Boat Day Dip

Italian Pasta Salad

I first posted this in 2023 and it went wildly viral for a reason, It only has five main ingredients and it has had countless rave reviews online for how delicious it is. Trust me on this one grab yourself some radiator pasta because it’s the perfect size and has groves in it to capture the dressing in each bite. Loaded with Italian-inspired flavors and tossed in a delicious dressing, this make-ahead pasta salad gets even better as it sits. A lot of you guys love my other version Creamy Italian Pasta Salad, and my Pepperoni Pasta Salad.

Macaroni Salad

This is a recipe passed down from my grandmother, to my mother, to me. It’s a classic summer side dish that belongs at every cookout, picnic, and holiday gathering. Once you try it you’ll never want to make another macaroni salad. You can also make the alternative version My Deviled Egg Macaroni Salad.

Loaded Potato Salad

If you’re going to bring the potato salad, BRING THE POTATO SALAD. This is one of my staple recipes I’ve made a ton of different potato salads but this one in particular is a crowd pleaser because it has all those American flavors that the people love. Especially at a party to celebrate the U.S of A. It’s just simple perfection. If you happen to be going to a 4th of July party at my house or any Italians house the international best potato salad is my delicious Sicilian Potato Salad.

BLT Pasta Salad

This is my most recent viral pasta salad sensation. Like my loaded potato salad it has all the flavors that must attend the 4th of July celebration. Such as Bacon, Cheese, Tomatoes, Pasta, and a little ranch seasoning and a creamy base. You absolutely can’t go wrong this is an incredible recipe. Fruit Salad

Somebody has to bring the fruit salad, and it might as well be you because when you bring it you’re going to make sure that it’s so fresh and flavorful and as a Melissajo Real One you’d never ever leave out the bananas. This recipe is so simple, It’s a mix of frozen fruit and fresh fruit with the most perfect tropical dressing you could ever ask for. Don’t be surprised if this gets eaten before the potato and pasta salad.


Main Dishes

Big Ranch Burgers

These juicy burgers are loaded with ranch flavor and all the classic toppings that make summer cookouts unforgettable. Using that Big Mac sauce this pairs for a perfect 4th of July!

Hot Dog Bake

If you’re anything like me and you’re an inside cat instead of an alley cat. You need to make the best Hot Dog Bake that will be gone before the guy outside sweating over a grills burgers. Follow the instructions but you can add any toppings you want. I loaded it up how I like but you can load it up however you want.


Drinks

Pitcher Cocktail

Strawberry Shortcake Cups

This is the perfect bite sized party favor to celebrate the fourth. This is more about an aesthetic than cooking up a storm in the kitchen. You’re going to buy a delicious store bought angel cake, some strawberry’s and the only thing you have to make is a whip cream, but if you’re feeling lazy just buy store whip cream. Each bite is going to be a firecracker.

Banana Pudding Cups

I took my delicious Banana Pudding Pie recipe and I assembled it in cute little serve cups. But instead of vanilla wafer I added a little surprise at the bottom of the cup, You’ll have to click to find out however I got the idea a couple years ago when I shared banana pie at a restaurant in Delray.
